Written during the Baltimore uprising, "A House on Fire" sums up my feelings about the events that occurred.
the flames like orange curtains decorate the city
and this house i must protect is not beautiful.
no armor could protect me
forty miles away from a mansion called dc
and i can’t see much
but misery in the alleys of these brownstones
brown people terrorized
brown people murdered
brown people thugs
brown people bugs
in this ugly house
where the floors are worn from floods
and the roof is caving in from fire
and the people are on fire
the buildings are on fire
and everything is on fire.
fire!
a house on fire is no good to me.
